Want a Straighter Smile? Invisalign May Be the Solution for You

If you’ve always wanted to improve your smile, but dread the idea of a full mouth of braces, then Invisalign® may be the solution for you. Invisalign® offers a great alternative to braces, especially if you’re concerned about the effect braces could have on your appearance during the process of straightening your teeth. The professionals at Implant & Comprehensive Dentistry offer Invisalign® treatment and can determine if this alternative to braces will work for you.
What Is Invisalign®?
Invisalign® treatment is a process that doesn’t require the brackets and wires of traditional metal braces to straighten your teeth. Instead, a series of removable inserts are placed over the teeth, gradually straightening them over time. These aligners are made of specially created clear thermoplastic. They are flexible, thin and fit snugly– making them both comfortable and nearly invisible.
What Is the Process?
After an initial consultation, our dentist will map out a treatment plan based on your needs and end goals. Next, a series of custom-fit aligners will be created based on a 3D model of your teeth. Each set of aligners is called a tray. These trays, meant to be worn in succession, change every two weeks.
Each tray is designed to apply the right amount of pressure when and where it is needed to gradually reshape your teeth. Once this process is complete, a retainer is required. This retainer will be worn full time for two months, then only while sleeping. Eventually, you will only have to wear the retainer a night or two a week.
What Are the Benefits of Invisalign® Treatment?
• Unlike braces, Invisalign® can be removed. This means you can eat what you want and brush and floss easily.
• There are no metal brackets and wires. This will save you those emergency visits to the dentist caused by broken wires or irritation.
• They are clear and comfortable to wear. Because these aligners are clear, they are virtually invisible. They are also soft, flexible and trimmed to the gum line, making them comfortable to wear every day.
• They are adaptable to your needs. These aligners can treat issues both simple and complex. Because they are created to straighten teeth individually, even those who’ve had braces or other dental work can benefit from them because they are more able to suit specific needs.
These are just some of the reasons Invisalign® treatment offers a great alternative to braces when you want straighter teeth. Reach out to the experts at Implant & Comprehensive Dentistry to see what they can do for your smile.
